It has since been recognized as one of the world's most influential political manuscripts. Commissioned by the Communist League, it laid out the League's purposes and program. It presents an analytical approach to the class struggle (historical and present) and the problems of capitalism, rather than a prediction of communism's potential future forms.

A wonderful manifesto to read, not for fun but to learn the true meaning behind communism. A truly byatiful book.
  • No wonder communistic/socialist governments fail

It is a pity that so many people blindly quote Karl Marx without actually reading his manifesto. They sound like fools quoting him as if they are on some high horse when they would never give up all that they have to live the life Marx actually envisioned. Do the Marxist sheep not stop to think about why more people leave communistic/socialist countries to live and work in capitalist countries rather than the other way around? Be objective. Study economics, study history and look at what is going on in the world today. Study the economies of Russia, China, Venezuela and many communistic/socialistic governments gone by. Notice the quality of life their citizens have. If conducting ones own research is too difficult (because apparently reading a short 118 page manifesto was for some), realize that the US Government spends more on healthcare per citizen than all but one socialist countries that provide “free” healthcare, and we US citizens pay far less in taxes and have much more opportunity to improve quality of life. However, if you are fine with a far less than the “top 3%” of people controlling all land, all property, all manufacturing, and losing your personal identity, inalienable rights, family structure, and incentive to improve your world, then continue supporting such an ideology. I have no problem with living in a country with a thriving middle class where one can truly attain the quality of life they desire if they decide to earn it. The notion of not giving any more or less effort to live a mediocre life and expecting everyone else to live in mediocrity because you choose to is ridiculous. Why on earth would anyone want to give up complete control of their lives to a governing body? What is hilarious is the same people who quote Marx tend to be the same ones who are paranoid about one world government...the exact thing Marx endorsed in this manifesto. Read, folks. Verify facts. Base belief upon those verifiable facts and not what you just read in the social media comments or what is popular belief. Be objective.
  • Clear and direct

Class struggle is explained clearly. The authors describe the perspectives through which human beings organize themselves. Social relationships are explored and the contradictions and principles of building a mature society are developed. The precepts of scientific socialism are defined in the context of a direct examination of human history. The book reads quite simply and is accessible to all with a curiosity for the logic of rational thought and politics. In spite of its age (circa 1848) its principles find organic application in our present world environment.

  • Not good

It’s for communists. It needs to be removed from our society. It is the book of the left. It also had many readers including joesph Stalin who killed 12 million people in death camps far worse than hitlers
  • A Wonderful Overview

    By BlackMetal81
As an outline of the problems of capitalism and the bourgeoisie state, this holy manuscript is unmatched. As an outline of actual political philosophy, it falls short. The shortcomings and problems of Marxism could fill another manifesto. If I could, I would give this 4.5 stars.
  • Marx is idiotic

    By Hopeful contestant.
He looks at things in the STUPIDEST ways possible!!! He considers only the simplest factors and never considers anything other than what he thinks about something. I thought this was a satire because of how ridiculous this is.
  • Great in theory, Horrible in practice.

  • The antagonist of American Democracy

Absolutely awful, every ideal in this book eventually leads to a dictatorship or a totalitarian regime.
